I met Daniel Michael Viox, of Viox Fine Arts, when I opened 1020 Studio (which I have since then sold to my fellow photographer and friend Molly Blair. Ladies, she is the queen of Boudoir Photography here in Seattle, just saying!)
Viox’s studio is one floor above 1020 Studio and we would bump into each other often. His art adorned the halls of th 1020 building, so I was familiar with his beautiful work.
When the opportunity arose to work with him on his branding, I was so excited to collaborate. We played with the afternoon light and his worn in, simple aesthetic. With personal props such as his books, antique typewriter, and lamps we layered his personality into frame with every piece we photographed.
I even managed to get him in the frame at the end of our shoot. :)
This piece really spoke to me. I felt a distinct oceanic element with this one that inspired the styling.
Photographing artwork in a way that someone shopping online can visualize it in their home as well as see the detail that builds value takes thoughtfulness and close collaboration with the artist.
Working with Viox and his beautiful art has become one of my favorite projects of 2020.
I am also celebrating the fact that a piece of his now hangs in my loft!
Thank you, Viox.
Be well and stay happy.
